Beyond the Script: Celebrating Childfree Milestones & Designing What’s Next
Details
What does a meaningful life look like—when you’re not following the default script?
For many of us, the traditional “life milestones” (marriage → kids → etc.) don’t fully reflect the lives we want to live. And without that script, it can sometimes feel unclear how to define progress, success—or even what we’re working toward.
This conversation is an invitation to pause, reflect, and celebrate:
✨ What you’ve already built
✨ What you’re proud of
✨ And what you’re excited to create next
Rather than focusing on what’s not in our lives, we’ll explore the richness of what is—and what’s possible because of our childfree choice.
🌱 What we'll do
- Lighthearted icebreaker: “Two Truths & a Dream” (celebrating past wins and future possibilities enabled by our childfree lives 😄)
- Reflect on the “default life script” we grew up with—and how we’ve redefined it
- Share current milestones—big or small—that we’re proud of
(optional: bring a photo, souvenir, or keepsake that represents a meaningful memory to share) - Explore what lies ahead: goals, dreams, and possibilities unique to our paths
- Cheer each other on in a supportive, judgment-free space
💭 Some questions we'll explore
- What does your personal “life script” look like?
- What milestones feel meaningful to you?
- What doors have opened for you because you chose a childfree life?
- Do you feel the need for defined milestones—or are you embracing a more open path?
👜 What to bring
- Beach chair or towel (we’ll be sitting on the grass)
- Hat and sunscreen for sun protection
- Notebook or journal + pen
- Clipboard or something to write on (especially if sitting on the ground)
- Optional: photo, souvenir, or keepsake that represents a meaningful memory or milestone
- Optional: iPad/tablet if you prefer digital journaling
📍Location
- Eagle Park in Mountain View
- *If it rains Saturday afternoon*: Bean Scene Cafe in Mountain View
- We will double-check the weather forecast again on Saturday morning and update the meeting location accordingly (park or cafe)
Whether you’re feeling clear and excited about your path, or still figuring it out, this is a space to connect with others who get it—and to be reminded that there’s no one right way to build a meaningful life.
