Rapidly moving from computer vision prototype to production quality solution

Details

Folks,

In this meetup, we'll hear from two perspectives about taking a computer vision prototype to production and challenges faced. Paul from Adlink and David from balena.io share their stories from vendor and user point of view. See details below.

Talk 1: Rapidly taking computer vision prototype to production quality solution

Abstract: In this session, Paul will take us through the journey of an machine vision solution using Computer vision. He will describe how ADLINK compute vision kits were used, the tools available and the challenges they incurred along the way and how .

Speaker: Paul Wealls
ADLINK Product Manager, GOTO50.ai & IoT North (UK) Community Manager.
Paul has over 20 year’s experience in connected technology and 13 years in IoT, a developer led evangelist in IoT and AI.

Talk 2: Experience building and deploying computer vision solutions from different vendors

Abstract: Computer Vision and AI/ML projects at the Edge and in IoT use-cases are becoming more and more popular. And while it is cheap and easy to prototype them on your desk, using readily-available hardware like Raspberry Pi's and Jetson Nano's, what happens when you go to production and need to deploy these devices out into the field? How do you manage and maintain the devices, update your models, or add features and capabilities to your applications once the hardware is no longer on your desk? And, will your hardware even survive out in the wild? David's talk will focus on real aspects encountered in production.

Speaker: David Tischler
Developer Advocate, balena.io

David spends a lot of time thinking about how technologies built for the Cloud are now leaving the Datacenter, and being implemented at the Edge and in small IoT devices. He's currently working as a developer advocate at Balena where he builds energy-efficient computing devices.
