About the Speaker: Christos Savva, Beezwax
To start, Christos was simply fascinated by the power of the FileMaker platform, and what he was able to build over the course of a single weekend. That was back in 2012, and since then he has built numerous apps for companies across a wide range of industries.

Initially self-taught in software development, Christos earned a M.S. in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology, to go with his Maths degree and Master's in Accounting/Finance from the University of Bath (UK). Christos has worked as a Chartered Accountant, and held roles in international financial services handling audit, enterprise risk services, compliance and business process re-engineering. But since software engineering is just as much fun as financial accounting...

Christos has been a FileMaker certified developer from version 12 through current, as well as an AWS Certified Developer. He is enthusiastic about learning web and mobile technologies (including JavaScript and, especially, Python) in order integrate them with FileMaker and to better serve users.

Christos hails from Nicosia in Cyprus, and in his spare time, he is an avid astronomer. He was one of the co-founders of the Cyprus Astronomy Organization, a non-profit organization to promote astronomy on the island.
