Play Borderlands 4 Silent Hill F and Sonic Racing Cross Worlds at Vocari Hub

Details
The next meeting is on September 27th at Vocari Hub. The featured games are Borderlands 4 a cooperative first person shooter, Silent Hill F a single player action horror game, and Sonic Racing Cross Worlds is a fun kart racer. I will have all three games setup on at least two PlayStations and Xboxs, but the Switch 2 will just have Sonic Racing since Borderlands 4 got delayed for it and there isn’t a Switch version of Silent Hill F. I will provide four pizzas, cola, and bottled water for guests to eat at the party.
In Silent Hill F you play as Hinako a young High School student who has lived her whole life in the unnecessarily creepy mining town Ebisugaoka in a mountainous region of Japan. One day after an argument she meets up with some of her school friends at a local store when literally all Hell breaks loose. Now Hinako must search for survivors and more importantly a way out of this zombie and monster filled village.
So far at least it seems like the game doesn’t take place in Silent Hill. In another departure it seems to have more in common with Dark Souls than a typical survival horror game, since you now have a stamina gauge in addition to your health and can dodge and even counter attack melee strikes. You can carry three weapons at once such as knives, pipes, or baseball bats, but the more you use them the blunt objects will begin to show damage and break over time. You can search around town for health items, keys, or kits to repair broken weapons.
Borderlands 4 takes place on a prison planet called Karios which is ruled by someone named the Time Keeper. There is a resistance that the vault hunters get tied into that wants to overthrow the ruling class and free the prisoners. The story will supposedly be less humorous but it seems like the level design and cinematics are very different compared to the earlier games. There’s also a new gun part called firmware that can be upgraded four times but I’m not really sure how it’s different than a class mod or the manufacturers bonus.
There are four new vault hunter character classes to choose from in Borderlands 4. Harlow is a Gravitor which is kind of a support class. She has an ice turret that can also do radiation damage, a long range missile attack and can trap and throw around enemies in bubbles. Rafa is a Exo Solder and seems designed for solo play. He has a backpack that turns into a cannon, and arm that turns into a gun called a apopgis lance, but most interesting is his arc light knife attack which switches the camera to third person whenever he uses it. Vex is a Siren and is good at doing a lot of damage quickly. She can shoot energy orbs, clone herself, and has a pet panther named Trouble that fights alongside her. Amon is a Forgeknight and is pretty much a tank. He has two axes that he can carry separately, link together, or have fly around him, he can also whip, punch, or throw or even guard with a shield.
The last three Sonic Racing games were made by Sumo Digital, but this one was developed internally by Sega, supposedly by the same team that normally handles the Initial D series in the arcades. All Star Racing Transformed had the cars turn into boats or planes at certain points in the race and that feature as well as hover boards return in this game. As I understand it every race in the game has three laps. The first and third lap are pretty normal, but during the second lap the race will shift to another completely different track.
There are a lot of characters in the game like Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Rouge, Victor, Cream, Robotnik, Big, Silver, or Espio. However there are also a bunch of non-Sonic guest characters like SpongeBob Square Pants, Pac-Man, Hatsune Miku, Ninja Turtles, and even people from the Yakusa and Persona games also by Sega. Supposedly there are at least fifty six playable characters to race as in the game, but I’m not sure how many must be unlocked and which ones are premium downloadable content.
