About us
Welcome to Bay Area Girls Who Game! Whether you’re into video games, board games, or both, you’ve found your community. We’re all about creating a warm, welcoming space for women across the San Francisco Bay Area to connect, share their love for gaming, and build lasting friendships. Whether you’re a seasoned gamer or just starting out, there’s a place for you here.
Our events include in-person dinners, brunches, happy hours, and more at some of the best spots around the Bay Area. We also host online gaming sessions and a monthly meet and greet.
Attendance Policy
- To ensure everyone can enjoy our events, please follow these guidelines:
- RSVP only if you plan to attend, especially for events with guest limits.
- Cancel at least 48 hours before the event if needed.
- Late cancellations (less than 48 hours prior) may result in a no-show on your profile.
- Excessive cancellations may limit your access to future events.
- Three or more no-shows could lead to removal from the group.
We Host Mixer Events!
While our group is for the ladies, we also enjoy sharing good times with loved ones! Events marked as “coed" are open to your favorite guest—whether it’s your husband, boyfriend, or best guy friend. Just be sure to add them as a +1 when you RSVP.
Join Our Discord!
Stay connected beyond our meetups by joining our Discord! It’s a great way to chat, share photos, find gaming groups, and stay in touch with the community. Once your membership is approved, message one of our hosts for an invite!
If you have been inactive for an extended period of time, Meetup will no longer send you notifications when we host events. So be sure to check our page regularly to stay in touch! We periodically remove anyone who has been inactive, but you can rejoin at any time when you are ready to be part of our community.

Putt, Play, & Peruse

Join us for an afternoon of mini golf, arcade games, and optional marketplace wandering - the perfect mix of friendly competition and casual browsing. IF there's rain, we'll skip the mini golf and play in the arcade before heading to the marketplace.
START:
📍 Golden Tee Golfland, Castro Valley- Pay on your own when you get there or use Golfland's website for online deals.
- According to the website:
- Mini Golf is $15.75 for one 18 hole game, but $14.50 when buying online.
- Arcade is $1 for 5 arcade points.
- Online package has Golf + 25 arcade points for $18.75. In case of rain, they have Rainy Day Arcade Bonuses. See website for details.
END:
📍 Castro Valley Marketplace, Castro Valley- Grab a bite at one of many food merchants (Akemi Sushi, La Perla, Beard Papa's, Seven Hills Baking Co, etc.)
- Peruse produce and goods from local merchants (Castro Valley Natural Grocery, Baron's Quality Meats & Seafood, Cordial Bottle Shop, etc.)

- Castro Valley BART is ~0.9 miles away from Golfland (4 min drive, 6 min bike, 20 min walk).
- The distance between the venues is 0.7 miles (3 min drive, 4 min bike, 15 min walk).
- There are parking lots at both venues.
