Samaria Trio traverses the musical geographies of Greece and Turkey, bringing together traditional instruments and repertoires with modern compositions and arrangements. Instrumentalists Gari Hegedus (oud, mandocello, tarhu, saz and more), Faisal Zedan (percussion) and Elana Brutman (Cretan lyra with sympathetic strings) will be joined by prolific composer & wonderful musician Kaila Flexer (violin and tarhui) and brilliant Turkish vocalist Ezgi Kurt. Come hear a lovely performance of a carefully curated selection of timeless melodies and new and original compositions deeply rooted in modal traditions of the near east.
