About us
Welcome to the Bay Area Identity Security Practitioners Meetup!
We’re a community of professionals who care about where identity security is headed: IAM, IGA, PAM, and the new frontier of AI agent identity. If you’ve ever explained “least privilege” at a party and watched eyes glaze over, you’ve found your people.
We meet weekly, starting online. Each session mixes networking, knowledge sharing, and a chance to sharpen your speaking and leadership skills. Here’s what you can do:
Level up your public speaking. Present a topic, lead a discussion, and build the presence that leadership roles call for.
Rehearse your next talk. Practicing for a conference or internal presentation? Try it out on a friendly, knowledgeable audience first.
Share what you’re working on. Walk us through a challenge, a tool, or a solution from your work. (Please scrub anything confidential. Your security team will thank you.)
This is a safe, supportive space whether you’re a seasoned expert or just getting started. Come meet people in the field, swap real-world lessons, and stay current on IAM, IGA, and agentic AI security.

Welcome to our very first meetup! Think Toastmasters-style speaking practice, but every talk is about IAM, IGA, PAM, or AI agent identity. You'll sharpen your speaking skills and your technical chops at the same time. Slides are welcome but never required.
Agenda (Pacific time)- 6:00 – 6:10 | Welcome: How the group works, plus today's roles (timer and feedback lead).
- 6:10 – 6:30 | Introductions (~60 secs each): Share your name, your role, and an IAM project or win you're proud of. Then tell us one goal you're chasing, or the deadly identity problem that keeps you up at night.
- 6:30 – 6:40 | Featured talk: Topic coming soon.
- 6:40 – 6:45 | Feedback round: Quick, constructive notes on what landed, what could be clearer, and one tip to try next time.
- 6:45 – 7:10 | Hot seat: Drop your real-world pain points in the chat and vote on your favorites. Volunteers then answer the top questions on the spot in 1 to 2 minutes. Example: "How do you explain least privilege to your CFO?" Totally optional, totally fun.
- 7:10 – 7:25 | Open discussion: What topics should we cover? Who wants to present? What other activities would you like to see?
- 7:25 – 7:30 | Wrap-up: Sign up for a future speaking slot or role, and get the date for session two.
What to bring
- A webcam if you're comfortable (optional, but it makes intros more fun).
- Your 60 secs intro.
- A work pain point or two for the hot seat.
- Ideas for future talks and activities.
- An open mind. Seasoned speaker or terrified of the mic, you're in the right place.
