Bay Area Introverts

Welcome to Bay Area Introverts (newly created March 2025)—a thoughtfully curated community specifically designed for introverted individuals, as well as those who understand and appreciate introverted personalities. The purpose of this group is to connect individuals living throughout the Bay Area who seek meaningful connections and genuine friendships in hopes that these friendships blossom even outside of our organized events.

We recognize that introversion is often misunderstood and mischaracterized as shyness or anti-social tendencies. This group aims to clarify these misconceptions. Introverts may include those who:

-are drawn to the inner world of deep thought and reflection, preferring meaningful conversations over casual small talk
-are cautious about sharing their thoughts and feelings with strangers until they feel comfortable or familiar with them.
-channel their inner world into creative pursuits such as writing, art, music, or other forms of personal expression
-recharge their batteries through solitary activities
-actively enjoy social interaction but prefer smaller, carefully chosen groups over large crowds
-value autonomy and independence, thriving when given space to explore personal interests or goals on their own terms.

Of course these traits aren’t exhaustive, and introversion itself exists along a spectrum.  Some of you may even identify as ambiverts—falling somewhere between introversion and extroversion. Regardless of how you specifically identify, if any aspect of our group resonates with you, we invite you to join us at our events

One of the goals of this group is to create a safe space for everyone. So please be kind and respectful to one another. We have a zero tolerance policy on any form of harassment including persistent advances, sexual harassment, and discrimination of any kind. If your primary intention is to date, please do not join this group as there are other meetup groups that serve that purpose. Please be considerate of what you say and how you present yourself. If you give off any creepy vibes, that may get you kicked from the group also. Any violation of these rules will result in immediate permanent removal from the group. If at any point you have any concern or feel uncomfortable or unsafe around the members of the group, please report them to one of the hosts.
