Study @ Santa Teresa Branch Library
Hosted by Bay Area Japanese Language Study Group
Details
Group Study Room B.
An unstructured study session for studying the Japanese language.
Weekly. Since these are unstructured, no need to visit every meeting. Come and go as you like. I only ask that you RSVP each time so i can get an appropriately sized room. Room may change from meetup to meetup, and such changes will be announced as soon as reservations close (a day earlier).
Bring your own study material. Some members will bring shareable resources. These studies are not loud but not quiet either, with conversation about the Japanese language freely happening.
This event is not a free translations pop-up, a Japanese:English language school, nor conversational practice. You may practice speaking Japanese if someone wants to use their study time for that.
Since much study material is in English, the study of English language, philology, & linguistics is not only acceptable at these meetups but encouraged.
These are the books i own. Request any you want me to bring.
-Languages of Japan, Shibatani
-A History of the Japanese Language, Frellesvig
-The Learner's Japanese Kanji Dictionary, Tuttle
-Japanese-English, English-Japanese Dictionary, Random House
