What we're about

This is a group for people who are currently in therapy and on a quest to make a true positive change in their life -- both within their psyches and interpersonally. Therapy is a journey that is, by its nature, quite private. It can be very helpful to talk with others about your therapeutic experience: how you're healing and growing, and also how therapy is challenging you, making you question structures in your life that you once trusted implicitly.

This is a social group, not a group therapy experience -- nobody is a licensed therapist and the meetings are self-facilitated. We're just a group of people who enjoy sharing our journey with one another and learning from each other's experiences.

We meet monthly in a small group (4-6 people), check in about how we're doing, and then bring up a few topics for discussion. Past discussion topics include: how to deal with strong emotions (positive or negative) towards your therapist, feelings about the structure of your sessions, what comes up around paying your therapist, and how to cope when your therapist is on vacation.

This is a group that has already met for 3 years. We're a sensitive, open, and respectful group. Half of our group are men, half are women. Most of us are in our 30s but age doesn't matter. There is no cost to the group unless we need to rent a room and split the fee for it.

We're looking for members who have been in regular therapy for at least one year already and can speak in the language of therapy. We want down-to-earth, curious, respectful people who jive well with our structure of openness, honesty, understanding boundaries, and allowing everyone to speak.
