Book Circle #1: Attached – Understanding Your Attachment Style
Details
For our first meeting, we’ll be discussing Attached: The New Science of Adult Attachment and How It Can Help You Find—and Keep—Love by Amir Levine and Rachel Heller.
You do not have to finish the book to attend. Please aim to read at least the sections that describe the three main attachment styles (anxious, avoidant, secure) and skim enough of the stories to get a feel for your own patterns.
This evening is designed as a deep, intimate circle, not a lecture. The flow will look like this:
– Arrival and brief grounding
– Group agreements and intention for the space
– Round‑robin sharing with reflective prompts
– Open dialogue and questions
– Closing round with one takeaway or intention for the month
A few guidelines for this event:
– You’re welcome here regardless of relationship status or orientation.
– Share only what feels right; you can always say “pass” or “I’d rather not go into detail.”
– We speak from our own experience (“I”) rather than analyzing or labeling each other.
– We don’t offer advice or try to “fix” anyone unless they explicitly ask for feedback.
Practical details:
– Please arrive a few minutes early so we can start together.
– We’ll cap this event at 10 people to keep it intimate.
– Bring your book, a journal, and water/tea if you’d like.
If this is your first time, come as you are. You’re welcome to just sit, listen, and feel out whether this space is right for you.
