LOCATION: Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey, California.

* * WHY IS THIS WHALE WATCHING TRIP DIFFERENT FROM ALL OF THE OTHER TRIPS.

This is a Whale Watching Trip conducted by Photographers For Photographers.

We charter the Entire Boat Exclusively for Members of our Meetup Groups.

We also Limit the Number of Photographers on board to only 25 which is half of the normal amount of people on the boat.

As a result, you do not have to worry about people sticking their cell phone sticks in front of your camera or bumping into you or pushing to get to the edge of the boat and blocking your view.

We have been doing these trips for many years and they always sell out so reserve your space ASAP.

ABOUT OUR INSTRUCTOR: Acclaimed Photographer and Whale Researcher Jodi Frediani will be the instructor for our Trip. She has been swimming with and photographing Humpback Whales on the Silver Bank for the past 22 years and is currently in charge of gathering fluke ID photos and collecting match-sightings data from the Silver Bank calving grounds of those North Atlantic Humpback Whales.
In addition, she has been photographing the marine life of Monterey Bay for the past 12 years.

ORIENTATION: Prior to the Boat Trip, Jodi will conduct an Orientation class in which she will share technical information on how to get the best shots, what to look for in animal behavior, how to function on a moving platform, etc. She will also cover, in advance, suggestions about the best equipment to use and what to wear. There will also be another marine biologist/naturalist on board to help locate whales as they appear.

ABOUT OUR TRIP: The reason that our trips are very different from others is because they are organized by Photographers for Photographers.
In order to provide the very best experience for everyone, we Charter the Entire Boat and put less than half the normal number of passengers on the boat so there is NO overcrowding.
As a result, there will be enough spaces on the rails where everyone can get those outstanding shots.

INFORMATION ABOUT JODI: Jodi Frediani is an award-winning Monterey Bay based photographer specializing in marine species, with a focus on Monterey Bay, California and the Silver Bank, Dominican Republic. Her extensive world travels have also taken her on photographic expeditions to the Arctic, Alaska, Brazil, Argentina, Antarctica, Thailand, Tonga, Norway and Africa. Her work has appeared in a number of national and international publications, including in the BBC’s “Nature’s Weirdest Events”, and in Carl Safina’s National Geographic blog, “Ocean Views”. In addition to photographing wildlife in its many forms and habitats, Frediani is engaged in whale research via several fluke ID projects both here and abroad.
