Track day at Thunderhill Raceway (driving school available)

Details
Thunderhill raceway is a great track consisting of bits and pieces of Laguna Seca and other tracks I have been to (if you squint really hard).
The event registration site is here
https://americanracingclub.com/registration/
The Thunderhill event runs Saturday and Sunday (you can choose either or both days). The driving school, however, is only offered on Saturday and if you want to drive on Sunday you have to register for the solo group.
Car prep: There is no specific car preparation required by this group. And the answer really depends on what state your car currently is in? Feel free to post questions in the discussions/forums section or contact me directly via email. Here are some basics though:
- No leaks and drips (coolant / oil / gas).
- If you have been putting off fixing some known issue related to your engine / transmission - track driving will only make that worse. So best to fix that before you come to the track.
- You should be able to lower all windows - otherwise you will not be let out on track.
- Enough tread on tires (comfortably above legal limit)
- Torque wrench (I'll bring mine to share). Make sure your wheel lug nuts are torqued to the right values. Know what they should be for your car - but in general 80 ft-lbs works for most. You will need to check these a few times during the day.
- Top off fluids.
- Tires set to the correct pressure and preferably bring a tire pressure gauge. Any cheapie will do.
- Get an air compressor if you are going to be fiddling with pressures. I'll being mine to share.
I will say one thing - track driving is hard on the brakes. So typically bleeding your brake system and putting in high temperature brake fluid such as Motul RBF 600 or 660 or other brands, is a good idea.
Make sure your brake pads have enough life left in them. Stock pads are fine if you are just starting out. If you get hooked, you can upgrade.
Helmets:
If you are in the driving school or SOLO group - you can rent a helmet by booking one during registration.
