What we’re about

We started our poetry exchange meetings early in 2015 to present our own poems and share samples of contemporary Russian poetry. Since then, we have been meeting approximately once in a month, each time with a selected major topic or author to present. We accept all Slavic languages, contemporary, ancient and formation-stage (e.g. Siberian).

We usually read in rounds; responses to the previous reader are welcome but not obligatory. Bring your own masterpieces, or your friends', or any verses you'd like to share, or bring nothing and just come to attend - there is no obligatory degree of participation:) Both native speakers and language learners are welcome; translation service is provided on demand.

We don't promise exhaustive coverage of Russian or Eastern European poetry, but do promise a broad coverage of it. If you think we are undeservedly underserving a particular topic, let us know, or simply come and share - we love collaborative research!

Let you know if you'd like to see a poem translated to/from Russian or Ukrainian.
