Q&A with Leila and Jess of Muna and Broad + Show & Tell!

Join us for an international conversation with Leila and Jess, the founders of Muna and Broad, an indie pattern company (@munaandbroad on IG) that they describe as "modern, beginner friendly sewing patterns for plus-size sewists." The duo met on Instagram and decided to collaborate on a plus-size pattern line, launching the company at the end of 2019. Their designs have been drafted "to ensure a great fit for large bodies." https://www.munaandbroad.com/

Leila (@leila_sews on IG) is a pattern designer, activist, and college professor in biomechanics who is committed to making sewing and fashion accessible to everyone. Based in Canada, she has worked in film, theatre, and as a seamstress for a couture studio and as a freelancer. You can read more about her on her webite: https://sewingforeverybody.com/

Jess ([@fat.bobbin.girl](https://www.instagram.com/fat.bobbin.girl/) on IG), who is based in New Zealand, has been blogging about plus-size sewing patterns at Broad in the Seams since 2017, when she began sewing plus-size patterns. Her blog includes lists of patterns that are designed for more than a 50" and 70" hip as well as weekly roundups of plus-size patterns.
