Pattern Swap, Picnic + Color Me Kaffe Raffle!
Details
Save the date! This a great time to pass along patterns, reduce your stash, find something new, and meet other sewists. Yay! Sewing magazines with patterns are welcome, too (Burda, Fibre Mood, etc.).
PLUS we'll have our own local version of the Color Me Kaffe contest that's happening now. Bring a garment you've made with at least three Kaffe Fassett fabrics and you'll be entered to win a raffle prize of fabric and/or other goodies from FreeSpirit Fabrics. There will also be raffle prizes open to anyone in attendance. Thank you FreeSpirit!
You can also enter the national Color Me Kaffe contest, which has a wide array of prizes, including gift cards, a sewing machine, and a serger. (Deadline to post photos on social is June 12.)
If you have a portable table or a blanket you can bring so we can have enough places to display patterns, please note it on this spreadsheet.
UPDATE: If you'd like to bring a snack to share or something to drink, please note it on the spreadsheet.
Bring a blanket or chair to sit on. And don't forget to bring a bag for patterns you take home.
Here's the agenda:
1 to 1:30 pm - Place patterns on tables, browse patterns
1:30 to 2 pm - Announcements and introductions - if it's not too noisy - we can each say our name and if we're wearing anything we made or say what we're working on now.
2 to 2:30 pm - See Color Me Kaffe garments and pick raffle winners
2:30 to 3 pm - Pattern swap, socialize, and group photo!
3 pm - Optional shopping at Stonemountain and Daughter Fabrics! (All members have been emailed the discount code.)
We will have four rounds of choosing patterns. If you bring at least three patterns, you can participate in the first three rounds of the swap. The fourth round is for everyone to take as much as you want. If you bring fewer than three patterns, then you can participate in the number of rounds equal to the number of patterns you brought. For example, if you brought two patterns, you can participate in the first two rounds of the swap.
It's totally fine if you don't bring a pattern, you can just wait until the first three rounds are done, and participate in the last round. You may need to take patterns home if they have not taken at the end. Unless someone can take extras to the East Bay Depot for Creative Resue, SCRAP, or FabMo.
*It's fine if the pattern pieces are cut - just be sure no pattern pieces or instructions are missing.
**IMPORTANT: Please sort your patterns into the following categories: accessories, dresses, skirts, pants, jackets/suits, coats, lingerie, sleepwear, menswear, children's, crafts, vintage, and miscellaneous. When you arrive, just put your patterns on the tables/tarps, which are labeled with the various categories.
