Friday Night Spiritual Discussion Group
Hosted by Bay Area Spiritual Seekers
Details
I'll email members a day or two before the event with the exact address. If for some reason you can't make it, please update your RSVP to "No" so I have a better idea of how many people are coming.
I would like this group to be an informal, friendly, positive discussion group where topics can be discussed easily and without judgment. I think for the first meeting we should start with introductions, share where we are on our spiritual journey, ask the question "what does spirituality mean to you", discuss what we'd like to get out of the group, as well as any suggestions as to content and format. Although I have ideas, I would like the group as a whole to determine its focus and direction.
As far as potential future topics, the possibilities are endless. After wracking my brain for awhile and checking what similar groups have done elsewhere, I've come up some possible ideas: books/spiritual authors who have influenced our lives, self-love, understanding your chakras, the Power of Now, reincarnation and past lives, astrology, alternative healing, a course in miracles, intuition, dianetics, avatar, energy healing, death, manifestation, responsibility, angels, living consciously, paganism, dream interpretation. near-death experiences, why do we suffer?, what is our true nature?, what are we searching for?, are we living the life we want to live?
As far as possible authors to explore (some I'm familiar with and some not): Eckhart Tolle, Neale Donald Walsch, Ernest Holmes, Stuary Wilde, Brian Weiss, Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, Sonia Choquette, and Abraham Hicks.
These are just examples to get us thinking. I am, of course, open to any input/ideas anybody may have.
