Sunday - Foster City Kayak/SUP

Details

Foster City’s crown jewel is its beautiful Lagoon with extensive water ways. The navigable canals weaving around man-made residential islands, averaging 6 feet deep.

The area looks like an expensive resort complete with nice views in all directions, and it's one of the safest and most scenic places to paddle in the bay area.

We'll meet at the boat launch at 11:30 AM.
On the water at 12 PM. (If you need more than 30 min for boat setup and gear up, please arrive early)

We'll introduce ourselves, go through basic safety and paddle at a modest (about 2.5 miles/hour) pace to our right, past Leo J Ryan Park and arrive at EdgeWater Place Center (about 1.5 miles) for a 20 min snack break.

There's only a high dock, no boat ramps at EdgeWater Place Center. (as shown as the event photo. I can assist you getting on/off the dock, but you do so at your own risk)

You can order take out from the pizza / Sandwich /Bubble tea / Cookie places in the plaza or feel free to pack your own lunch. (Restrooms available in the plaza).

We'll head back around 1:15 PM and return to dock around 2 PM.

Parking: Free parking
Restroom: Onsite

What to bring:

  • Your boat (Kayak/SUP, inflatable OK)
  • Must wear a properly fitted PFD at all times.
  • A whistle to call for help in distress. (Some PFD models have whistles attached). You may buy a storm whistle from Amazon for about $7.

Please update your attendance at least 24 hours before event date.
This is considered a beginner friendly easy trip, with round trip a little over 3 miles.
