Let's Change the World

The Bay Staters for Natural Medicine, the New England Veterans for Plant Medicine, and Parents for Plant Medicine are proud to host The Rally for Affordable Plant Medicine this Thursday from 1p to 5pm at the Massachusetts State House. Now that we have decriminalized seven communities across our state, we must ensure lawmakers know about this work and progress so they do not reverse these achievements in corrupt political deals.

Why this Matters

Together we will ensure that our rights to grow and share plant medicine will not be abridged and that plant medicine counseling is not folded into our for-profit healthcare system in a way that will charge $3,500 for a gram of mushrooms as in Oregon.

Schedule of the Rally (Feel free to Join and Head Out at any time)

1pm: Meet at the Hooker Entrance at 1pm sharp using these directions. You will go through security and then we will do a team building exercise and introductions

1:30 to 3pm: We will pair people off into groups by floor to go speak with lawmakers and their staff. In these conversations, you do not have to be an expert. The key is just to share why you personally care about this issue from your perspective, smile and be friendly, and ask them to share our handout with their colleagues to continue conversations in the building.

3pm - 3:30pm: Meet at the Grand Staircase for a brief standing meditation and speeches to inspire change on this critical issue of mental health, addiction relief, and neurological relief for our communities.

3:30pm - 5pm: Continuing the outreach from office to office to ensure that every state representative is aware of the importance of allowing adults to grow and share plant medicines as a D.C.-based PAC works to strictly commercialize access.

7pm to 8:30pm: We will be hosting a community action hour online from 7-8:30 at this video meeting link in the evening for those who are not able to make it in-person. We will share stories of hope, share information about our campaigns and plans for 2024, and then contact our lawmakers together on the video call using easy and convenient tools.

Not Able to Make It In-Person?

You can still have an impact by using this easy petition tool ([actionnetwork.org/letters/plantmedicinenow](https://www.google.com/url?q=http%3A%2F%2Factionnetwork.org%2Fletters%2Fplantmedicinenow&sa=D&source=calendar&usd=2&usg=AOvVaw0Nz2CfxyYO-sWtB4CezrTj)) and asking friends to use it too. We will also have the online rally that same evening that you can join here. Every little bit helps.

Parking, Directions, Carpooling

The state house is conveniently located right by Park Street station by transit. For driving, we recommend using Spothero to reserve a spot in advance. If parking costs are a deal breaker for you, feel free to send us the receipt and an explanation of your financial need and we can reimburse you. We will meet at the Hooker security entrance (map) at 1pm sharp. If you come later than that, then meet us at the Grand Staircase on the second floor at 3pm or text James at 316-217-6287.
