Ride up Mt. Hamilton, Tallest Peak in the Bay Area! | 38 miles, 4265'

Details

Simply put, we will ride up the tallest peak in the Bay Area, Mt. Hamilton. At the top, there is the Lick Observatory for a restroom and snack break.

The steepest average grade is 6.6% over 2.5 miles. I compare this ride to climbing Mt. Diablo, just a little less grade over the long haul, but 6 miles longer. Some parts of the mountain flatten out a bit or descend, so it's not a straight climb up. Go at your own pace.

Bring layers for the descent, the weather at the top can be very unpredictable!

We will plan out our rest stop for catch up time at the start of the ride. There is a park with a portapotty before the sustained climb begins.

Bring all snacks and liquids for the ride. Feel free to descend at any point. It's an out and back ride.

Annual 2023 Community Membership Fee: 10.00 to help support my Meetup Dues and planning. Venmo @franny-meetup or please bring cash. Thank you!
