MAIN PRESENTATION at 6:45: The New .NET Universe – Any app, Any developer, Any platform - Beth Massi

With the acquisition of Xamarin, the .NET platform portfolio has exploded to a point where .NET developers can truly create any type of app for any platform or device. .NET Core is a cross-platform, open source, and modular development platform for creating modern web apps, container-based microservices, libraries and console applications that run everywhere.

Xamarin brings the power and productivity of .NET to iOS and Android, reusing skills and code while getting access to the native APIs and performance.

This session will help you get an understanding of the big .NET picture, where .NET Framework, .NET Core, and Xamarin fit in, and where .NET is headed in the future. We’ll also take a look at the .NET ecosystem, job market, industry trends like containerization & microservices, and how you can get started no matter what operating system you use. Come meet the new, cross-platform, open source .NET.

Beth Massi is a Senior Product Manager for .NET at Microsoft and a long-time community champion for .NET developers.
