Let's Meet Up to Discuss Writerly Things, and Share Work!

HEY BAYOU WRITERS,

We are halfway through July, and I am already wondering where the first half of this year has gone! You too?

I am looking to kick off this second half of 2025 with some gusto. It is time for a reset and the way I do this best is by putting my plans down in writing.

This week’s meeting will be a hard-core discussion on best practices, writing contracts, successful planning (using a planner) and accountability partners.

If you are looking to get more serious for the last half of 2025, then this meeting is a must!

I will have some workshop news and would love to hear some of your ideas/needs for the upcoming fall. This will be a discussion-based talk where you can share your ideas, too. Whoop whoop!!! I can't wait!!!

In addition to the discussion/presentation, we'll also have time for Readings:

LET'S SHARE OUR WORK
We are a writing group... so please bring in anything you are working on and want to share! New members are especially encouraged to bring something to read. It can be flash fiction, a short story, journal writing, or a couple of pages from your larger manuscript. If you write it, we want to hear it. The only request is to keep it under 1,000 words.

GREAT PLACE TO EAT
We have found a wonderful home at Bosco's in Mandeville. They have a great private room, excellent service, and wonderful food. They are not charging us for the space, but if you can, please plan to eat dinner and dessert or order drinks to help them for helping us.
