Full Moon Hike
Memorial park , 301 N picnic lane,, Houston, TX, USMost people think there’s nowhere to hike in Houston.
That it’s too flat, too hot, or too “city.”
But here’s the truth — Houston does have trails worth exploring. You just need to know where to go… and have a crew that actually shows up.
Join us for a Full Moon Hike — a free outdoor adventure designed to help you get outside, breathe a little deeper, and meet people who love exploring as much as you do
.
As the moon rises over the trees, we’ll walk through one of Houston’s hidden green spaces. You’ll hear crickets, the soft crunch of dirt under your boots, and laughter from people who were strangers just minutes ago.
This isn’t a fitness test — it’s an experience.
It’s about feeling alive, grounded, and connected.
Whether you’re new to Houston, tired of the same old routine, or just craving a break from “all work, no play,” this is your invitation to rediscover what’s right here in your backyard — and who you might find along the way.
Details:
• Distance: 2.5-3 miles on natural trails (yes, real hills — in Houston!)
* We'll hike about 24 minute miles give or take
• Bring: A red-light headlamp,
* Water
* Sturdy shoes
Adults Only
No dogs (we love them, but so do the coyotes)
NOTE: While this event is open to everyone, it is a little harder to hike at night. Please make sure you're comfortable walking 3 miles during the day before signing up for this event.
We’ll meet at 6:30 PM — come early to find parking and settle in before the moon makes her entrance.
How to find the Group: Look for the Bayou City Outdoor and HTXoutdoors signs.
📍Location: On the Southwest side of the 3 mile loop where there is street parking. https://maps.app.goo.gl/Lag3cqi71L9famiG9
🚗 Parking Info: Park on the street. It's free. You might have a walk a bit to find us so please allow extra time for parking.
Why it’s free:
Because connection shouldn’t be hard to find.
This hike is hosted by HTXoutdoors and Bayou City Outdoors — Houston’s social outdoor clubs that make it easy to stay active, have fun, and actually meet people who show up.
You’ll come for the hike…
but you might just stay for the crew.
