Full Moon Hike
Memorial park, 301 N picnic lane,, Houston, TX, USMost people think there’s nowhere to hike in Houston.
That it’s too flat, too hot, or too “city.”But here’s the truth — Houston does have trails worth exploring. You just need to know where to go… and have a crew that actually shows up.
Join us for a Full Moon Hike — a free outdoor adventure designed to help you get outside, breathe a little deeper, and meet people who love exploring as much as you do
.
As the moon rises over the trees, we’ll walk through one of Houston’s hidden green spaces. You’ll hear crickets, the soft crunch of dirt under your boots, and laughter from people who were strangers just minutes ago.This isn’t a fitness test — it’s an experience.
It’s about feeling alive, grounded, and connected.Whether you’re new to Houston, tired of the same old routine, or just craving a break from “all work, no play,” this is your invitation to rediscover what’s right here in your backyard — and who you might find along the way.
Details:
• Distance: 2.5-3 miles on natural trails (yes, real hills — in Houston!)
* We'll hike about 24 minute miles give or take
• Bring: A red-light headlamp,
* Water
* Sturdy shoesAdults Only
No dogs (we love them, but so do the coyotes)NOTE: While this event is open to everyone, it is a little harder to hike at night. Please make sure you're comfortable walking 3 miles during the day before signing up for this event.
We’ll meet at 7:45 PM — come early to find parking and settle in before the moon makes her entrance.

Dinner after Full Moon Hike
Canyon Creek Cafe, 6603 Westcott St., Houston, TX, USLet’s face it. When you go on a hike, and you don’t really know anyone, you tend to just talk to the person who’s walking next to you. And while we try to mix things up on the hike, there’s no better way to get to know people than over a little food and drinks! 😀
Whether you hike with us or not, meet up for some dinner and drinks.
How to find the group:
Look for the BCO/HTXO Signs and the group of sweaty people who look like they just hiked! 😀
NOTE: Our hike is done at about 9:15 pm at Memorial Park, so if you arrive before us, please grab a table outside.Fees:
The Event is free to join, bring some money for your own food and drink.Parking:

HTXO & BCO Social and Reunion
Patterson Park Patio Bar, 2205 Patterson St, Houston, TX, USLet’s get wild y’all!
We’re throwing the ultimate social and reunion. 😀 It’s just been too long since we’ve seen so many great friends. Friends we’ve made over the last 25 years!Yes, you heard me correctly. BCO started 25 years ago and expanded with HTXO 9 years ago. If you found your person or people with HTXO, send us a pic to info@htxoutdoors.com
Want to hear some stories from BCO members?
In the past 25 years, literally, thousands of members have:
Made lifelong friendships, both platonic and romantic. 😀Traveled extensively… hitting every nook and cranny of TX, remote places across the US, and stepping foot in over 50 countries!
Found homes for and helped 100s if not 1000s of animals. Between picking up street dogs, fostering, feeding, and spaying feral cats, fundraising… HTXO and BCO have a soft heart for our 4 legged friends.
Taught members new activities … Hiking, biking (road, mountain, and casual), camping, backpacking, SUP, kayaking (flat & white water), navigation, map reading, traveling light, speaking Spanish, night sky, nature photography, astrophotography, pickleball, ping pong, wakeboarding, volleyball… this list goes on and on!
Come out to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and celebrate our shared love for nature and outdoor adventure. Whether you’re a past member of HTXoutdoors (HTXO) or Bayou City Outdoor (BCO), a current member, or a future member looking to join in on the fun, everyone is welcome!
The night will be filled with laughter, reminiscing about past adventures, and catching up on what everyone has been up to.
And, if you’re new to the group, this is a great opportunity to meet other outdoor enthusiasts, learn more about BCO & HTXO, and get tips and advice from seasoned adventurers.RSVP is required at https://htxoutdoors.com/events/htxo-bco-social-and-reunion-2/ If you have any questions, please email us at info@HTXOutdoors.com
