Sew and Socialize at the Castle in Fort Totten
Details
You are cordially invited to a sewing Meet-Up Saturday afternoon at the Bayside Historical Society. Seamstresses and quilters of all levels are welcome and will find inspiration and guidance. We have three sewing machines you can reserve, or bring your own, or stitch by hand.
We will set up our creative camp in the upstairs ballroom that is full of sunlight and views of the open fields and Little Neck Bay. Use this time to work on your wardrobe, a quilt, or an embroidery project.
If you would like to reserve one of our machines, let me know when you RSVP.
COVID Requirements: Please be vaccinated. Masks are encouraged until everyone is settled at our well-spaced tables.
To get to the Meet-Up tell the guard at the Ft. Totten entrance that you are part of the sewing group at the Castle, and he will direct you. Parking is permitted on Saturday on Murray or Weaver Avenues (ignore the signs). You may pull into the driveway to unload by the ramp at the rear of the building, but unless walking is difficult for you, please do not leave your car in the driveway as it is rather narrow and can block other vehicles.
Be advised that the Meet-Up is up a flight of stairs. There is no elevator.
Only the back door with ramp will be open before and during the Meet-Up session. Do not use the front or side doors. No one is in the office, and no one upstairs can hear the doorbell or answer the phone.
Attendance Fee: $10 cash, or $8 for members of the Bayside Historical Society.
