What we’re about
Join us at Bayt-ul-Midrās our both online (and eventually offline) meetups for engaging in discussions related to the study of selected key early legal-works of fiqh (=Islamic Law), analyzing those texts from a historical-critical perspective -- all while remaining faithful to an overall athari framework!
Discussions would be mainly held in English I suppose, but that doesn't mean that Dutch or Arabic are per se excluded either. Also, having a reasonable level in Arabic in both reading and listening skills is certainly recommended, as well of course as some level of general familiarity with the subject matter.
Both Muslims and non-Muslims are welcome if interested enough, men and women alike! (as gender shouldn't be a hindering obstacle to knowledge seeking).
(p.s. Because of this being something totally new to me as it's my first time organizing anything similar, we might first schedule our initial meetings on Discord before moving on to holding irl ones 👀 ~ for that matter, being within close proximity of Utrecht is not a requirement; esp. since we can keep hosting meetings on Discord even after we switch to in-person sessions whenever that becomes tenable!)
