## Baytown–Mont Belvieu Permaculture Meetup on the Urban Oasis: How City Permaculture Works
Join us for the Baytown / Mont Belvieu area permaculture meetup.
If you’re into sustainable living, regenerative gardening, homesteading, and learning how all the pieces fit together (food, water, power, shelter, and income), you’re in the right room.
This first meetup is designed to be casual, welcoming, and conversation-friendly.
Beginners are absolutely welcome, and so are long-time growers, builders, tinkerers, and seasoned permaculture folks.
If you’re curious, you belong here.

What to Expect (Simple Agenda)
This first meeting will be an open forum discussion with a loose structure:
- Quick introductions (who you are, what you’re working on, what you want to learn)
- A short presentation on urban permaculture
- Group conversation around shared interests like:
- permaculture design + systems thinking
- regenerative gardening and soil building
- composting, mulching, and low-input food production
- rainwater capture, filtration, and water storage
- renewable power tools and off-grid tech basics
- sustainable construction methods
- homestead-based income and practical self-sufficiency
- We’ll also gather input on what the group wants most, so future meetups can become more topic-focused (workshops, guest speakers, demos, themed discussions, etc.)
A Little About the Organizer
I’ve been growing things and raising animals most of my life, but permaculture is what helped me connect all the dots—soil, water, food, shelter, and community. I’ve been studying it for about a decade and applying it hands-on for years now. My goal with this group is simple: make this stuff feel doable, not overwhelming, and build local friendships along the way.
I started this group because I wanted a place locally where people can talk permaculture, sustainability, and self-reliance without needing a 2-hour explanation first. I’ve been studying whole-systems living for about a decade and applying it hands-on for years now, but I’m still learning constantly.
If you’re brand new or you’ve been at this forever, you’re welcome here.
Let’s trade notes, share wins, and build resilient roots in our area.
