Dhanpat Rai Shrivastav or Munshi Premchand as we know him more popularly is considered to be the pioneer of modern hindi/urdu novel and story writing. With over a dozen novels and more than a thousand short stories to his credit Munshi ji is respected as "upanyas samrat" in literary world.. Born in a small town of Lamhi near Banaras Munshi Premchand went on to become one of the most celebrated writer of Hindi literature ! During his early writing career he has written Urdu novel and stories under the pen name Nawab Rai and later shifted to Hindi as his mode of expression under the pen name Premchand.

Team Parwaz brings to you an evening of short story reading of this legendary writer - a mix of popular stories and not so popular stories from his kitty.
