The Lower Mainland Bookcrossing Meetup Group Message Board › Introductions
Last month I was sitting alone at The Bread Garden waiting for members of my new Indie Film group (on Yahoo) to show up and no one did. In a desperate move I asked the confused looking three people wandering aimlessly around the restaurant, if they were part of my group.
'No.' they replied. 'We're looking for the Bookcrossing group.'
Once they had decided to have a seat and start thier discussions I found myself yawning and sighing as none of my group showed so....
I spent that evening with the three and was introduced to Bookcrossing and it's goals/format/etc. I had had a series of books that had come across country with me (that I had bought at a lawn sale) that had these sticker things in them and now I understand what they are. I hope to be able to find them and bring them out as I am sure they are probably still in a box somewhere.
I had promised them, that night, that I would type out this post and say hi but I have been swamped with late tasks and our home was broken into last week. They took all of my camera equipment AND my laptop that had my writings on it. Sufice it to say we are now financially and artisticly back some steps.
I do not know when I can come out nor when this cloud will break but I hope to be able to join you one day and be active to some degree. I now have 6 months worth of work to redo and no laptop to do it on (Limited to the desktop makes it tough to catch up as I have to be home for that) as well as trying to find a way to financially recover without my 'art tools' to work with.
I did not want to make my first intro on a low note, but I believe in being honest and taking advantage of every spare moment I have so right now seemed the right time to fit this intro in and let you all know who I am and where you can find me.
As a matter of fact! I'm just about to post re: TWOTS with an idea... Hmm... Oh my god!! The brain is working... Okay.. I'm going there RIGHT NOW...
Will see you some time.
