BCP HIKE AND LECTURE SERIES EVENT:
Come experience a part of the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve as Travis County partners with The Wild Basin Preserve in presenting a night filled with ooh's and aah's as we discover the realm of snakes.
We start the program off at 6:30 with an hour-long family friendly snake program (all ages welcomed) presented by University of Texas Herpetology professor Travis LaDuc. Travis will be bringing 5 to 10 of his favorite scaled friends as he discusses the snakes found in Central Texas. This program will be a more kid-centered program.
Next, Travis County Volunteer Coordinator William Burch and volunteers from Wild Basin will take the group on a 30 minute interpretive hike around Wild Basin focused on reptiles.
Sturdy footgear is recommended. Drinking water and other concessions are not available so please plan to bring your own. Sun block, hats, and insect repellant are recommended. Please feel free to bring binoculars and/or photographic cameras. No pets are permitted within the preserve.
Limited to 40 individuals, ages 6 and up. We will be going on a hike; trails are not accessible with strollers.
