Apache Flink

Apache Flink is an open source platform for scalable batch and stream data processing. At its core is a streaming dataflow engine that provides data distribution, communication, and fault tolerance for distributed computations over data streams.

Interesting features are its custom dataflow optimizer, custom memory management, and its strategies to perform well when memory runs out.

Sessions

There will be two 45 minute sessions:

1. Primer to Apache Flink. An introduction with all the necessary basics and background informations to get you up to speed.

2. An in-depth excursion into stream processing with Apache Flink. This session will also feature examples and a live demo.

There will be plenty opportunity to ask questions and discuss, socialize, and to enjoy a great view over Hamburg. Food and drinks will also be available.
