The Courage to be Disliked
Details
Do you often feel like you are holding back or saying yes to things at the cost of your own boundaries and needs? Do you fear being misunderstood or disliked by others? Do you admire or envy people who seem to not care about what other people think of them?
This session might be just the right thing for you.
The fear of being disliked by others results in constant approval seeking, prioritizing other people's expectations, and betraying your own needs and values. This is an exhausting, unsustainable, and unproductive way to function.
In this experiential session we aim to help you understand the costs of approval-seeking, and learn to live more from values and integrity.
This is a 90-minute personal development session that combines elements of group coaching, workshop and bookclub. I call it a non-ordinary bookclub because a book may inspire our content, but you don't have to read the book to participate.
This session has been inspired by the book The Courage to be Disliked by Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga.
