Hi Ultracoderz!

We’re happy to announce the next Intel Ultracode Munich meetup and the first of 2014!

This time, we’ll dive into another exciting subject (with which you are obviously related to in a way or another): Connected Objects. We were looking for interesting talks on this theme, so we decided to focus on Intel Galileo (http://intel.ly/1g5wg9k) new development board.

Then we went directly in touch with Marc from Internet of Things Munich (https://www.meetup.com/IoTMunich) community with who we ended up deciding to merge our meetups for this edition. We also wanted to involve some concrete robotics stuff and after a quick chat with Andrey from München Robotics Enthusiasts (https://www.meetup.com/Munchen-robotics-enthusiasts/) community we also agreed on mixing communities.

We’ll then have 3 talks then we’ll finish around beers, pizza and demo of your currents projects, see the call for project below:

[ CALL FOR CONNECTED OBJECTS PROJECTS: if you are working in something related to connected objects (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Gadgeteer, NFC, bluetooth, etc...) feel free to bring the hardware at the meetup, we'll demo it and share feedback on it around with some beers & pizza :-) Send us an email on (elsa at bemyapp dot com) then we can discuss about logistic and setting things up at Werk1 ]

• Everything you wanted to know about IoT and Galileo and didn’t know where to ask by Sulamita Garcia (https://twitter.com/sulagarcia) UX Researcher & Intel Technical Marketing EMEA and Tayyab Qureshi (https://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=6748950&authType=NAME_SEARCH&authToken=1p0n&locale=en_US&srchid=615960081396031445861&srchindex=1&srchtotal=18&trk=vsrp_people_res_name&trkInfo=VSRPsearchId%3A615960081396031445861%2CVSRPtargetId%3A6748950%2CVSRPcmpt%3Aprimary), Intel Technical Marketing IoT EMEA

Are you a developer scratching your head about what all this IoT conversation is about? And how can your app take advantage of it? Are you a maker curious about what’s Intel is doing on IoT? Have questions about Galileo & Quark? So you may want to come and ask us! This session intends to be as interactive as you want – you drive the content. Join us to know more about Intel Developer Zone for IoT (http://software.intel.com/en-us/internet-of-things), what are the specs for Galileo & the advantages of Quark.

• theThings.IO: the social network of the Internet of Things by Marc Pous (http://marcpous.com/) (@gy4nt), founder of theThings.io (http://bit.ly/1cNyjnO)

I will introduce you to theThings.io, a social network to manage all of your online gadgets from a single Dashboard. For developers and makers, theThings.IO is the first marketplace for IoT apps. And for new HW startups, theThings.IO is the Amazon of the Internet of Things. Email me on [hello at thethings dot io] for more info.

• Real-time data streaming and motion control over the Internet by Andrey Nechypurenko (http://www.linkedin.com/in/andreynech) founder at Veterobot.com (http://bit.ly/Oi1tQi)

Collecting sensor data (like video, telemetry, positioning, etc.) and transmitting commands in real-time to control remote vehicles is not a trivial task. It gets even more complicated if it should be done over unpredictable communication channel such as Internet. I will describe our approach for high quality monitoring and remote control of the robotics vehicle, then the outline of the core hardware building blocks.

9:10pm - Beers, pizza, demo & prototypes.
