Holidays Are For Giving At Spanish River Athletic Field
Details
Important Please Read:
People from many different cultures and countries celebrate the end of the calendar year or season, from community feasts to sharing blessings; each culture or country has its own traditions. Some well-known examples are Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa
In addition to Friendsgiving as a celebration and a way of sharing, we also want to recognize the holiday season as good time for sharing and giving. This year we are asking that everyone attending bring food to share with the group and at least two cans of food for a donation to a local food bank.
Please do not bring perishables such as cookies or similar packaged goods as donations.
At the end of the skate or walk we’ll meet to share the food and collect the food bank donations.
NOTE: We welcome skaters, cyclists or if you prefer to just walk or run that's ok to. This event is suitable for all skate abilities for beginner to speed skaters. We also offer skating tips and suggestions to new skaters to get them started. Cyclists and Walker/Runners can choose a 1, 2 or three mile loop around the athletic fields and lakes.
The closed area of the park is safe for night skating. This is a 3 mile loop inside the park complex on bike and walking paths with some room for with little auto traffic or hills.
Because it's a closed loop you can skate at your own pace and not be more than a mile from the starting point.
We'll meet at 6:30 PM and skate at 6:45 PM.
Schedule:
6:30 PM Meetup in The EAST Parking Lot (opposite direction from soccer field)
6:45 PM Skate Loop
7:45 PM Social Time
Directions:Take I-95 to exit 48 A westbound on Spanish River Blvd. continue on over I-95 (it's the 2nd stop light after the bridge) TURN LEFT into the park and TURN LEFT at the next 2 stop signs. Go about 300 ft and park. Text 561-654-5991 if you need a map or help finding us
