Lionfish Hunt on the Yellow Brick Road

http://photos4.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/5/8/9/0/event_226342672.jpeg The lionfish invasion continues so we must be vigilant to clean our portion of the reef regularly. On our last visit to the road, we eliminated two but we saw more that we could not get from the rocks. We'll do our best to get them all this time. Unfortunately, they multiply fast enough for there to usually be plenty to harvest.
Divers can bring any small spear or implement they desire. The state no longer requires a saltwater license to be equipped, so all divers can no help eradicate this species that has no natural enemy and is ravaging the tropical population.
We'll meet and be in the water early because some of us go to work later that morning. This is an easy spot to enter and exit. Freshwater showers are available. Parking is $1.50 per hour and is plentiful at the scheduled dive time. Divers of all experience levels are encouraged to attend.
