You’ve seen the photos and you’ve heard the stories. You may have even tried lobster hunting yourself but you could not locate or bag one. This common problem is easily solved with a little information and a little practice.

Our Spiny Lobster Hunter Specialty course is your answer. The only course of its kind offered by the only instructor authorized to teach it, this SDI Specialty course equips you with the knowledge and skills that enable you to bring home dinner during the season. In addition to lobstering expertise, the course produces credentials – you receive an SDI Specialty Diver Certification card that counts toward qualification as a Master Diver!

The course begins with a two-hour lecture that covers everything from habitat to habits, food, and travel patterns. Getting into marine biology, you can learn what the lobster sees when you approach. Perhaps most importantly, you will learn how to use lobster gear and the most efficient techniques. You could easily save the price of the course by paying attention to the section on what gear works and what gear is a waste of money.

Practice makes perfect, so the course includes two lobster hunting dives. The dates, times, and locations of those dives will be determined during the class with a schedule consensus among participants.

The regular fee for this course is $149 plus a $20 cert card fee but this preseason special class is only $149 including everything. Class size is limited so RSVP early for your seat.
