What better way to spend a Monday evening than an evening walk as well as a sunset picnic?
Start time: 6pm
End time: around 8:30pm
Location: We will meet at the entrance of the footpath on Paradise Drive (next to Link Road). What 3 Words: basket. unions. casual.
Travel: There is free parking on the roads around this area. If catching the bus, the nearest bus stop is St Vincent's Place, however, buses don't run back to town by the time we get back to Paradise Drive at 8:30pm. To walk from and to Eastbourne station it takes about 20 minutes.
This will be a circular walk, up to Warren Hill Dew Pond, along to Beachy Head for a short picnic and circle back down to Paradise Drive.
Bring: comfortable shoes (e.g. walking boots), plenty of water, warm layers, your own food for the picnic and a picnic blanket or towel if you like.
This walk is a chance for everyone to get outdoors, exercise and hopefully discover a new route or new information about Beachy Head, as well as watch the iconic sunset there. It's an opportunity to have fun and meet new people in Eastbourne!
Please note that there are some steep inclines for this walk so a good level of fitness is needed. We will also stop outside the Beachy Head Pub at the Refill Station, to top up our water bottles halfway along the route.
Dogs are welcome, however, we ask that they are kept on leads for this walk so that they do not disturb the wildlife.
We'll keep an eye on the weather forecast the day before the walk and if the weather isn't looking so great we will message the group to tell you the walk has been cancelled. If you sign up but realise you can't make it in the end, please remove yourself from the list so someone else can join as places are limited.
