First of all, I have great news on Baron - the little beagle from the Hamilton-Burlington SPCA with skin trouble. He's been adopted by a family with another beagle!

Now that doesn't mean you're off the hook! We're still in desperate need of more foster families for beagles like Baron who need rescue! Please consider this very rewarding program. If you have questions about it before sending in an application, don't hesitate to contact me. 

Speaking of skin trouble, many of us experience that with our beagles so I thought I'd send along a message from our friends at Westie rescue regarding an upcoming seminar on this very subject!

Join us on Saturday March 24th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at our "Itchy Dog" Skin seminar sponsored by Westies in Need-Westie Rescue at the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) in Guelph.

This seminar is a joint project between Westies in Need and Dr. Anthony Yu of the OVC. Dr.Yu has lectured extensively in veterinary dermatology throughout North America, Europe and China as well as authoring and guest editing several publications in journals and veterinary textbooks.

Registration is $35.00 per person. Included in the lecture will be handouts, lunch and lots of free samples!!!!

Seminar topics will include: why is your dog itchy, Atopic Dermatitis, yeast in dogs, mange, rashes, hives, pyoderma, hot spots eczema, seborrhea, when and when not to vaccinate, food recommendations, immune system support, what supplements to give, shampooing suggestions, what is NEW in the world of dermatology for dogs and so much more and we will finish with a question and answer period.
