The Orisha are deities/divine spirits originating from the traditional Yoruba religion of West Africa. They are powerful, sentient forces of nature and consciousness, each governing specific aspects of the universe, human behavior, and natural elements. Orisha are intermediaries between the Supreme Creator (Olodumare) and humanity, and are often seen as archetypes embodying divine principles, human traits, and natural forces. Much like angels, the Orisha are hands-on, and are guides, protectors, and teachers for us humans.

In this class we will discover the powerful 7, as well as explore the veneration of this pantheon!
Each class, you will learn the folklore and veneration practices of two deities, and given homework to interact with one of the two from each week, with additional resources to choose others.
