Pizza Tour: Pizza Lupo and Lolev Beer

Details
Join me for some pizza and beer.
Pizza Lupo is take out only. I plan to pick up a pie before going to Lolev.
Pizza Lupo in Lawrenceville is a standout spot in Pittsburgh’s pizza scene, known for its artisan-style pies with bold flavors and a thin, crispy crust. Located at 5123 Butler Street, it channels the spirit of a classic Italian pizzeria while adding its own creative flair.
Their menu features both build-your-own and specialty pizzas, including the popular White Pie with garlic cream, ricotta, and sausage, and the Tropic Thunder with smoked mozzarella, bacon, roasted pineapple, and jalapeño. The Grandma-style square pies are a local favorite, especially the Drunk Meatball and Lupo Loco with spicy arrabbiata sauce and hot honey drizzle.

Lolev Beer is a vibrant craft brewery nestled in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood, known for its distinctive brews and immersive atmosphere. Housed in a restored 110-year-old building, the space blends industrial charm with modern flair—think exposed brick, cathedral ceilings, dramatic lighting, and eclectic art pieces that make it feel more like a creative lounge than a typical taproom.
The name “Lolev” comes from “Lower Level,” a nod to the founders’ original homebrewing roots in Philadelphia. Their passion shines through in a rotating lineup of beers that range from crisp lagers and saisons to bold IPAs and experimental styles brewed on a 20-barrel, steam-powered system. You’ll find options like the Samo Pilsner, Vindobona Vienna Lager, and Rubico Double IPA on tap, with new releases dropping regularly.
