Allegheny River Trail/Herrs Island Hike, and Grist House Brewery

EVENT:
We will begin our fall foliage hike along the Allegheny River Trail in Millvale River Front Park, cross over and loop Herrs Island, and hike back to the start for a total of 4.5 miles. After the hike, we can either walk or drive to the nearby Grist House Brewery for some adult beverages. Grist House is about 0.4 miles from the start; hence, if you decide to walk, that will give you a total of about 5.5 miles of hiking.
We will meet in the first parking lot adjacent to the River Front Dr. Regardless of your direction of travel, you will have to cross the railroad, go under a small bridge, make a right-hand turn, and pull into the first large parking lot on your left. CONSIDERATIONS:
1. Dogs are permitted on this hike but must remain leashed and under control at all times. Furthermore, city ordinance requires that you clean up after your dog.
2. This hike is on mostly flat and hard-packed surfaces.
3. Dress properly for the weather in moisture-wicking layers and comfortable footwear.
