A book written by Leo's brother, who has joined us for a few book clubs. As Ukraine is faced with famine and Russian oppression, Maria Kovalenko and Russian soldier Leonid Kozlov start a complicated relationship. 4 years later after he abandons she, now a famous author and lecturer is invited by him to speak at a charity function in Chicago. This brings back thier history as the world changes around them. It sounds like an interesting historical fiction and I'm excited to see how this relationship also tackles the bigger historical moments that were going on at the time
