Early Morning Razor Clamming on the OR Coast!

Please read everything below before RSVPing, as there is a little prep involved in this amazing morning trip! Low Tide will be about 8:30am, and we get there about 2 hrs beforehand.

Cost for the trip:

  • $25 Host will clean and vacuum sealing your clams after the trip, and will coordinate a group pick up for clams (frozen) at a later date in Beaverton. Clam equipment will be provided, and you can cash, Venmo, PayPal, etc. the host when we reach the beach.
  • If you have your own clam gear and are going to clean your own clams, then this event is free!

What you need before trip:

  • Go to Oregon's Fish and Game Website, continue as a guest or log into your account, and buy a Shellfish License.
  • $13 for residents (annual) and $37 for non-resident (annual), and $29 for non-resident ($3-day). You must physically have your license on you (printed) or on your phone.
  • Bring rain boots, rain pants, rain jacket, warm layers,

What does the day look like?

  • If you are carpooling, host will be at Fred Meyer off of HWY 26 (7355 NE Imbrie Dr, Hillsboro, OR 97124) at 5:30am, parking nearest to the Pharmacy Drive Thru. Please put in the chat if you are planning to come to the carpool, host can take 4 people. If you are carpooling, please chip in $10 for gas.
  • If you are driving by yourself, meet at parking lot at 7:10am, at Sunset Beach Ln, Warrenton, OR 97146.
  • We do drive our vehicles on the beach/sand to get to the clamming spot. We will get set up/gear'd up around 7:15am on the beach, and then head toward the water! Instruction on how to notice the "tell" for where to dig for the clams, how to dig, etc. will be provided.
  • The clam limit per person, is 15. We will probably be clamming for around 1-2hrs, and then we will head back to PDX.
