Trinidad Overnight Meetup

There have been requests for a weekend photo outing, so here is our first two-day Meetup. There are two parts.

The first part is a two-day overnight trip to Trinidad on the weekend of 5 and 6 April. On Saturday morning we will meet at Solar Coffee’s cafe in downtown in Pueblo (226 N Main Street) at 9:00 - yes, this will require an early start for those of us in the Denver area! Our first photo location will be the historic buildings and murals around the cafe. We will then continue south towards Trinidad, stopping at several interesting locations to take photographs and lunch in La Veta. We will check into a hotel in Trinidad, and after dinner take nighttime images of downtown Trinidad. After breakfast on Sunday morning, we will tour downtown Trinidad for photo opportunities, and then drive to La Junta along highway 350. There are several interesting places to photograph along the highway including the semi-ghost town of Model and some historic buildings. After lunch in La Junta, we will drive to the Weisbrod Aircraft Museum in Pueblo. This will be the last stop of the trip and people can leave when they are ready to drive home.

For the second part we will meet at 5:30 pm the following Thursday (April 10) in north Golden (in a commercial office facility near the intersection of Hwy 93 and Golden Gate Canyon Rd). The meeting is to review our images; there is no scoring or judging, just opportunity to provide constructive feedback to improve our images. The focus is our creativity, not technical minutia although feedback of how to improve technically to capture better images is welcomed. I will provide the building address on during the photo outing.

There is no fee to join the Meetup; please ignore any funding requests from Meetup.

The meetup is limited to 8 participants.

Only RSVP if you can join both parts of the meetup. To allow time for participants to plan the trip and make hotel reservations, the RSVP will close on March 7. I will set up an online meeting the following week to discuss plans for the trip and details of the Trinidad hotel. Each participant is responsible for their own reservations and travel costs.
