Barton-Le-Clay 16 Mile Circular Walk

We are well on the way to summer now so time to start our monthly long walks again, starting with quite a tough one. This 16 Miles from Barton-Le-Clay is a good warm up for the coming Welsh weekend and follows the Chiltern Way and Icknield Way Trails. There are a good few hills to tackle but well worth the effort, we will be passing through three Nature Reserves, some great woodland, beautiful countryside and there are plenty of fantastic views to enjoy.

What to expect
A 16 mile walk through woodland and open fields mainly on good paths and tracks, some may be a bit muddy in places. There will be a few hills and some steep climbs with a total ascent of around 1500ft. We will maintain a pace of just over 3mph throughout the walk.

Due to the distance and amount of ascent this walk is quite challenging and is suitable for anyone with a good standard of walking fitness.

Parking: There is roadside parking alongside the recreation ground.

Distance: 16 miles

Total Ascent: 1500ft

Time: Approx 5 hrs (includes stoppages)

Charge: There is a £3:00 charge for the walk.

Refreshments: There will be a break at about the halfway point so bring a drink and a snack.

Public Toilets: There are no public toilets available on the walk but plenty of woodland.
