Day 2 – Malham Cove and Gordale Scar
Following the rigours of yesterday’s challenge, we may be feeling a little sore, so what better way to stretch off those legs before the long drive home than a gentle stroll around the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.
There is a lot packed into this 7.5mile circular walk from the pretty village of Malham and it was voted No3 in the UK’s best 100 walks.
As well as visiting two of the most spectacular geological features in Britain – Malham Cove and Gordale Scar, there are rivers, lakes, woodland and waterfalls to enjoy. Be aware that there will be some scrambling involved.

Parking: This is a pay and display car park.
Distance: 7.5 Miles
Total Ascent: 900ft
Walk Time: Approx 3hrs (includes stoppages)
Weather - The Yorkshire Dales are notorious for their unpredictable weather, even in the height of summer it can turn nasty so please come equipped for all eventualities.
Refreshments: Bring a snack and a drink for the walk, there is a café at the end for tea and cake.
Toilets will be available at the start, and at the end of the walk.
