We are an all-inclusive community. We will not tolerate discrimination of race, gender, gender identity, age, or sexuality in our group.
We welcome atheist, agnostics, and the religious in our groups. Though expect your deepest held beliefs to be challenged.
Questions and Answers:
Q: What is a skeptic?
A: We follow the philosophy of "scientific skepticism". This means that we require evidence up to scientific standards for all of our beliefs.
Skeptics love the phrase "prove it" and love it when the request is answered. You will often find us working as a kind of consumer protection. Challenging practitioners of a supernatural or alternative medicine products and services to test and prove their claims.
Q: I'm in, where do I start?
A: First off, vote! Get out there and make your voice heard in our political system.
Next, join our investigations team! We could always use more help. Contact leadership for more information. You can also help administrate and host events, start a local chapter in your city/county, and help grow our community.
After that, we could use financial help. Please donate to our group. This money goes to Meetup dues, planning events, testing local practitioners, and community outreach.
We are a 501c3 Organization, so your donations are tax deductible! EIN: 93-3011263
If you do not have the money or time, get more vocal! Silence is the enemy of progress.
Let people in your life know skeptics are not just cynics, debunkers, and we are not deniers. Invite them to Beehive Skeptics events!
Q: I am a practitioner of a supernatural or alternative medicine practice. (reiki, acupuncture, professional psychic, medium, naturalist, homeopath, ghost hunter, cryptid hunter, faith healer, ex...) Is this group for me?
A: We would love to talk to you! We as skeptics are interested in the truth, not our ideals. We would be ecstatic to see undeniable, falsifiable proof of any supernatural claim. If you feel the supernatural is real and can prove it in a scientific and falsifiable test, contact us! We will work with you to create a falsifiable test of the claims. If feasible, we will test it ourselves. If it passes, we will help facilitate entry to earn 500K!

“The Ghost Lab” with Matthew Hongoltz-Hetling
Skeptical Inquirer Presents | Thursday, July 24
It’s hard to deny the growing cultural rift between traditional institutions and a rapidly expanding landscape of paranormal belief. In his latest book, The Ghost Lab: How Bigfoot Hunters, Mediums, and Alien Enthusiasts Are Wrecking Science, Matthew Hongoltz-Hetling examines how widespread distrust in science, government, and media has fueled a boom in supernatural thinking—and empowered a new class of paranormal entrepreneurs that further spread distrust. At stake is not just what we believe but how we decide what counts as truth.
Join us on Thursday, July 24, at 7:00 p.m. ET for a Skeptical Inquirer Presents live stream with author and journalist Matt Hongoltz-Hetling. He’ll explain how belief in the paranormal is evolving into a dominant worldview, one that increasingly competes with evidence-based systems for public trust. Hongoltz-Hetling uses a blend of storytelling, humor, and hard data to challenge skeptics to think differently about belief—and to consider what a more inclusive, resilient version of scientific and civic life might look like.
This live, online event is FREE, but advance registration is required. Sign up today!
