The New In Town Group did this last year and it was one of the summers BIGGEST Meetups! EVERYONE HAD A BLAST ( See pics from last year's event here (https://www.meetup.com/newintown-67/photos/1041919/17505005/)) So we are doing it again...This Meetup is dedicated to all the NEW MEMBERS of Meetup ...no matter what groups you have joined....don't miss this one! This is a Party for all of Meetup so organizers feel free to post and invite your groups too! Current Members - Come Welcome All New Members ! ! ! Come as early as you want since it's going to get crowded, The Band ( Half Moon Jack (http://www.halfmoonjack.com/)) starts around 7pm all you need to do is show up and be prepared to have an amazing time!!! They have picnic tables, cheap drinks and food. It will be a great time...Plus they are giving us a 3 olives drink promo! Please car pool if you can! Grass parking at Wendy Beach is available..but limited. To find the place....The address for Edgewater park is 6500 Cleveland Memorial Shorway, Cleveland, Ohio but that will get you close and once in the park make a right following the signs to Wendy Park/Whiskey island. It's a long road with fences on either side so don't think your getting lost....you will go past a water treatment plant on your left...it's straight a head from there. Respectfully inhabiting the former Sunset Grille, The NEW Cropicana (http://www.cropicana.com/) at Whiskey Island Marina and Wendy Park, opened on May 5 th and will continue to operate as a seasonal, casual restaurant through September. Cropicana is Chef Steve Schimoler’s groovy beach inspired version of Crop Bistro and Bar (http://www.cropbistro.com/) on West Sixth Street Cropicana will stay true to Whiskey Island’s legendary summertime beach scene and down to earth vibe. Think fire pit, outdoor grills, smokers, boating, beach volleyball, walks in the park, fishing and live music on weekends; including local talent, Rock, Reggae and Blues. Cropicana is still super kid friendly with a jungle gym and lots of space for frisbee and corn hole. Leashed dogs are also welcome to enjoy the island. Take advantage of beachside partying minutes from downtown Cleveland. Bring a blanket, lawn chair and leave your worries behind. Nestled on a 60 acre peninsula known as Whiskey Island, Cropicana is a tropical oasis on Cleveland's North Shore. Built in the early 1900's as a sawmill, the building has been transformed into a restaurant/bar that is reminiscent of a beachside cabana one might find in the Caribbean. A full kitchen offers a variety of comfort bar food such as juicy burgers, sandwiches, salads and fish. Tropical drinks, cold beer, and plenty of liquor are served by a friendly, accommodating staff.
