Haifa BeerTech May 2023

This month Haifa BeerTech is co-hosting an event jointly with Haifa Tech Talks, titled “How traditional TV is being disrupted - a tech view”. We will be hosting Baruch Promislow, a Solution Sales Engineer at Amdocs, focused on Media Solutions. His family has "cut the cord" 10 years ago, but have not really stopped consuming media.
Baruch will be talking about disruption of the traditinoal TV and Cinemas via the new solutions that OTT (over the top, aka non traditional over the air) is constantly introducing.
We'll discuss:
- What is OTT and why is it a disruption? We'll look at the technical aspects and commercial ones
- The latest move towards advertising funded commercial models, FAST (Free, Ad-supported TV) Channels
- We will look into the journey from Free-to-air TV through early days of Cable, the traditional cable bundle (Pay-TV), early days of IPTV ending up in the current state.
This is going to be super fun!
