Let's hike McHugh to Potter and back for a total of 6.6 miles. This is for intermediate hikers. It's one of my favorite winter wonderlands, and fantastic views. According to Lisa M. Maloney "You'll know you're within a mile of McHugh Creek trailhead when you find yourself gaping in awe at the giant trees around you." Besides a few steep hill, it's low elevation gain.

This hike is about a 15 minute drive from South Anchorage. Be bear prepared with spray, bells, and bear horn. Altho, this is not as important in winter.

If you have control of your dog(s) off-leash, you are welcome to bring yours! If not, leashes will be required.

This a no-one-left-behind hike.
