Join us for a scenic and moderately challenging hike up Wolverine Peak starting from the Prospect Heights trailhead.

Start Time: 10:00 AM (please arrive 10–15 minutes early so we can get moving on time)

Details:
• Distance: Up to ~5 miles round trip (optional summit)
• Elevation gain: ~2,000+ ft to the top
• Difficulty: Moderate to challenging
• Terrain: Forest trail transitioning to open alpine with some steeper sections

Plan:
We’ll hike at a steady, social pace. I will be turning around at approximately mile 3, but anyone who wants to continue to the summit is welcome to do so—just be prepared to finish independently or with others continuing on.

Current Conditions:
Expect spring season conditions:
• Packed snow and/or icy sections likely, especially higher up
• Possible mud at lower elevations
• Microspikes strongly recommended
• Trail may be slick in shaded areas

What to bring:
• Sturdy hiking shoes/boots
• Microspikes or traction (highly recommended)
• Water (1–2 liters)
• Snacks/lunch
• Layers (temps can vary a lot between trailhead and ridge)
• Trekking poles (helpful on snow/ice)

Wildlife & Safety:
Moose are active in this area, and bear activity is increasing this time of year. We’ll stay aware, stick together early on, and make noise. Bear spray recommended if you have it.

Meetup Notes:
• This is a group hike, but not guided—please know your limits
• If you continue past the turnaround point, you’re responsible for your own pace and timing

Come out for a great workout, fresh air, and some of the best views near Anchorage!
